| Canada Summer Games 2022

Welland Tennis Club
Saturday, August 6th to Saturday, August 20th
The Welland Tennis Club is co-hosting the Canada Summer Games with the Niagara on the Lake Tennis Club. The Games are taking place from Saturday, August 6th until Saturday, August 20th with tennis taking place the first week at the Welland Tennis Club.
The Games will be using the WTC courts from Friday August 5th until Sunday, August 14th. The majority of the commissioning will be happening August 5th so the hard courts will be out of use from this date until the 14th. The clay courts may be used on days there is no play on the hard courts and given there are no rain delays or other issues.
WTC Members will be able to access all the courts beginning Monday, August 15th in the usual manner by booking online.
Competition days for the athletes at WTC are Sunday, August 7, Monday, August 8, Tuesday, August 9, all morning sessions and Thursday, August 11, morning and afternoon.
Kristine Atamanyk, the Venue Team Lead for the Summer Games will notify the club if alternate times are required the preceding day.
The City of Welland has graciously accommodated the club for league play, booking us into the new Empire courts by the Flatwater Center.

Ladies B League Tuesdays 10am-11:30 Aug 9 – Empire Sportsplex
Ladies B evening Thursday 7-9pm Aug 10 – Empire Sportsplex
Men’s B Monday 6-8 pm Aug 8 – Empire Sportsplex
Men’s A – not playing this week
The Masters league has chosen to play at the Youngs Sportplex during week 1 of the event.
Many club members have volunteered for the Welland Venue Team and we appreciate their and Kristine’s hard work and efforts that have gone into this to make this event happen at our Club.
For those not volunteering, COME OUT and watch some of the up and coming Canadian tennis talent. It’s fun and exciting to watch the sport grow.
