ICTA- Intercounty Tennis Association +55 League For those clubs which have not been contacted in prior years, I would like to introduce myself as the Director of the InterCounty Tennis Association’s (ICTA) +55 League. I have been the President of North York Tennis Club in past years and am currently the President of Wishing Well Tennis Club. Your Club may already have teams entered in one of ICTA’s four Leagues. It is my hope and mandate to encourage clubs to enter our +55 League, known for both it’s competitive and social nature. Our existing teams (45 teams in 2023) would like more competition and opportunity to meet more players. Our League offers your senior club members the opportunity to meet their peers/tennis enthusiasts at different clubs. Teams are divided geographically into Divisions at the “A”, “B” or “C” level. Fixtures commence at 10:00am on Thursday mornings and consist of 1 ladies, 1 men’s and 1 mixed match. A player is somebody 55 years of age or older at any time during the calendar year. I encourage you to consider entering one or more teams in our League for the 2024 season bringing fun and excitement to your Club’s senior members. The +55 League rules are available on our web site. A club that is unable to field a complete team, may start a “Composite Team” by using players from more than 1 club to play on 1 team, with the approval of the League Director as per rule 5.3. To enter a team(s) for new clubs or returning clubs, please provide me with the following items: Number of teams to be entered and at what playing level (A,B or C). If you have asked for an accommodation for a team, please note that I will only be able to confirm if you received this accommodation once all teams are confirmed. If your club is scheduled to have courts resurfaced or are hosting OTA Tournaments, please provide me with those dates and I will do my best to accommodate your dates into the schedule although not guaranteed. However, once the schedules are done, you will need to make your own arrangements for home matches for court resurfacing dates or OTA Tournament dates. Provide the contact information (email address & phone numbers) for your team captain(s)/co-captains once known. If you have any questions or require further information, please contact me by email or phone. Additional information is also available on the +55 League website by selecting the “ICTA LEAGUES” tab and then the “+55 League” option on the ICTA website https://intercountytennis.com/ Looking forward to a successful season, including your club entering or returning to our ICTA +55 League.
