October WTC Newsletter 2024 - Welland Tennis Club

The WTC Tennis season is coming to an end for 2024 and at this time the Club holds its’ Annual General Meeting and the election of the Board of Directors for 2025. As required by the WTC Bylaws, a Call for Nominations is sent out to the members in advance of the AGM. Please read through the following notice and if you have an interest in volunteering for the Board please send an email to Linda Anderson, the Nominating Director.

Call for Nominations

With the new By-laws and Constitution, the Board of Directors will comprise of nine (9) members.
Board positions are

President

Vice -President
Treasurer
Secretary
Social Director
Membership Director
Facilities Director
Communications Director
Director at Large

All members of the present board were elected for only one year given the past bylaws and will stand for re-election if they so choose. Those elected will decide after the election who will fill which positions on the Board. If there are nine candidates, they will be acclaimed. If more than 9 interested persons, there will be an election by secret ballot at the AGM.
All interested persons will need to send in their names by email or letter to the Nominating Director. Each nomination needs to be a member in good standing with the Welland Tennis Club.

Nominations close at midnight on October 5, 2024 and the list of nominations will posted at the Club and online.

Members running for election may submit in writing their biographies and election platforms of no more the 300 words to the Nominating Director. Submissions, upon Nominating Director’s approval, shall be sent out to the membership via email within one day of receiving them.

COME OUT AND BE PART OF THE CLUB

On behalf of the WTC, Linda Anderson presented a cheque for $200 to Community Crew in St. Catharines. The Donation came from Pizza sales at the Rose City Tournament in June.
