Messages from League Coordinators Thursday Night Men’s B Tennis League Hello everyone, Spring has sprung and the tulips and daffodils are out and it is time for our Outdoor Welland Tennis Club Men’s B League. This year we are going to play on Thursday at 6:30pm starting April 25. We will play for 2 hours each night. This year I would like to formalize the league a bit more. I would like people to commit to playing each night so we know who is coming and I can organize appropriately. If you can’t come then we will have a list of back ups who can fill in. The first two weeks will be for tryouts. Tryouts will amount to us just playing as we usually do but seeing if any of us are too good and need moving up to the A league. 😊 The A league will have tryouts as well but they are on Monday nights. For those who know for sure they want to sign up for the B league, please send me an email asap. I need to know people who are coming by April 23 so I can organize courts and order enough pizza. The cost of the B league will be $25 per session for balls and a few pizza nights (I will collect extra $ on pizza nights). I am planning to run 3 sessions, Spring, Summer and Fall. Spring will run from April 25 to June 29. Summer will run from July 6 to August 31. Fall will run from September 7 to October 26. I would appreciate if everyone can pay by the first date of each new session starting now. I hope everyone comes out and plays and if you know of any other players in the Welland Tennis Club who may be interested please let them know and encourage them to come out. We are a mixed, pick-up senior league, welcoming all levels of play. We especially welcome new members young & old. We play Mon. Wed., & Fri. mornings @ 9:00 a.m. starting April 15th & change to 8:30 a.m. in June. We are a more social, rather than competitive league. This is great for those starting out or have been away from the game for several years. May 6- – Jun 24 – 8 weeks Jul 1 – Sept 16 – 10 weeks – depending on weather Cost is $25.00 to cover the balls. Men and Women and all Levels are Welcome- All players change partners every half hour INTRODUCING Beginner Round Robin (Level 2.0 – 3.0 ) along side the regular drop in Round Robin. The Beginner Round Robin allows beginners to play with others at the same level to build confidence in playing a doubles game on a full court.
